About

I took the long route to data. It made the work richer.

I'm Aman Gupta, a data engineering and BI practitioner interested in reliable pipelines, useful abstractions, and technical ideas explained without theatre.

The path

2013

Civil engineering

I began my professional path in civil engineering—learning to think in systems, constraints, and consequences.

2017

Nuclear sciences and civil engineering

Graduate study deepened my interest in complex systems, modelling, and technical decision-making.

2021

Data engineering and BI

I moved into data, working across pipelines, analytics, and the layer where raw information becomes a decision.

Now

Learning in public

I use this site to document practical systems, sharpen my thinking, and exchange ideas with other builders.

Working principles

Make state visible

Observable beats impressive.

A system should explain what it knows, what it is waiting for, and how it can be repaired.

Design for the reader

Clarity is an engineering property.

Documentation, naming, and interfaces are part of the system—not work that happens after it.

Prefer honest trade-offs

Every abstraction sends a bill.

Good design makes the cost visible and chooses deliberately for the context at hand.

Let's talk

Have a data problem worth thinking through?

I'm always interested in thoughtful technical conversations, collaborations, and opportunities to build useful systems.
